Numara Software is seeking a senior software engineer to expand the growing development team for our FootPrints service desk product. Working within a product development team, you will design and implement new features and help maintain the application. You must be a quick-learning and creative problem solver. Ability to communicate well with other developers and with other departments (product management, QA, customer support) is important. The position can be in either Edison NJ or Tampa FL.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Senior Software Engineer for the FootPrints product
- Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications
- Supports software applications
- Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
- Responsible for ensuring high quality through adherence to process and through agreed upon practices
- Provides input on multi-year development roadmaps, task definition and assignment, scheduling
- Responsible for initiating, developing and driving the adoption of product and process improvements
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks
- May lead and direct the work of others
Qualifications:
Required skills:
- Over 7 years of product development experience
- Perl development experience
- Web application development experience
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript
- Knowledge of SQL and databases
- Strong structure development and foundations background (e.g. error handling, collection classes, data types, distributed components, portable solutions)
- Solid Systems architecture and data modeling background
- Strong background in Window, Unix, and Solaris Operating Systems
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to balance technical, business and other drivers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- College Degree
OTHER NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Java experience
- Knowledge of Ajax, working with XML or JSON, experience with javascript frameworks
- Experience developing commercial software applications
